I own a small pizza oven that I love to use, but doesn't have capacity to use for full-sized pop-ups, so by cutting down on the number of guests, I can offer an even more intimate dining experience, and focus the food around this tool I love so much.
The food will be a bit simpler and more rustic compared to what I normally serve at the full pop-ups, but no less delicious!
As much as I love making fancy, over the top food. I also enjoy the more rustic food. It can be both exciting and scary at the same time serving simpler food, because you have nothing to hide behind. There aren't 7 different elements that can potentially cover for one that's imperfect. When you have a pizza, or roast chicken over potatoes with a sauce, it's either on point or it isn't. There is no middle ground.
This is in no way shape or form a departure from the bigger pop-ups, rather the addition of another event type to help me scratch the creativity itch. If this goes well, I will be doing more dinners like this. I may even add things like cooking classes. If there is a type of event you would like to see, please don't hesitate to reach out.
